- The changing role of civil engineer has to be redefined in view of the changing social order and expectations of the people.
- To emphasize the system engineering approach in civil engineering teaching.
- To emphasize the need of optimization and management in civil engineering training.
- To provide sufficient field exposure by visiting various types of ongoing nearby projects time to time.
- To provide entrepreneurship skills.
- To provide in depth knowledge of design.
Civil Engineering is the mother of all engineering and the oldest discipline of engineering sciences. Every common man is a civil engineer in his own right. Development of a country/society cannot be imagined without the contributions of a well-trained civil engineer. Due to unplanned/lopsided growth of some other disciplines, civil engineering discipline did not get a proper attention in recent years and due to which a scarcity of well-trained civil engineers is being felt in a big way for the infrastructural development of the country. In view of this RGEC, Meerut has started B.Tech. - Civil Engineering course from the session, 2008-09. Mechanical engineering department has always been the backbone of all engineering colleges. At RGEC also, it provides all resources to keep the students updated with the latest industrial trends. The experimental setups are sufficient enough to cover both theoretical and practical aspect of education. Workshop, which is a center for acquiring basic engineering acumen, has been well equipped with Center Lathes, Capstan Lathes, Slotting and Shaping Machines etc.
The following very well equipped laboratories support the department :
